A Christmas Carol

 On Sunday the 25th of November, me and my family went to a Christmas Carol. It was very entertaining. Because we went with Kids Cancer Care all the non alcoholic drinks were free, it did not cost anything to get in and each family gets a free photo. This is the not the first time we have went if you were wondering!! Here is the free photo that we got!!

Weaning at 4K ranch Monday afternoon

 As you may have gotten a hint from the title, me my dad and a friend of his were weaning cows Monday afternoon. For those of you who have absolutely no idea what weaning is, it is quite simple. Weaning is were ranchers separate the cow's from the calves. The first step is to chase all the cows and calves into a pen. This part is usually easy. Lucky for us it went smoothly!! 
  
The second step is to separate the cow's from their baby's. My job in this part is to bring my dad some cows and calves so he can let the cows out the gate to a different pen and stop the calves from going with there moms. This part also went smoothly. Here are some  picture of me doing that.

  

The third step is to separate the calves into two groups. The groups are the ones that we keep and the other ones are the ones that are going to go to the auction. This part went well to.

 The last step is to load the calves into the big semi truck so they can go to the auction!!

After all it went really well. The only disadvantage of weaning is that, that night and three days after all we hear is the mooing of the cow's...

Donating

First things first. On my last post on the title it says Moving cow's and hoses. I meant to say horses. So sorry about that.

  On Thursday I went to Monkey Mountain with my mom and siblings. My siblings were just buying stuff for themselves. I on the other hand was using my give money to donate to the Children's Hospital for Christmas. I bought a fidgeting toy, plus pluses, a lego guy and an experience to do with magnets. All the toys that I got are going to kids in the children's hospital!! 

You can do the same and make a child's life better for Christmas!!  

These are plus pluses for those who did not know.

Moving Cows and Hoses!!!

Saturday and Sunday were big days for me!! On Saturday me my dad and some friends moved horses and dewormed them. I have a couple of photos from when we moved horses. I was put in the back, there were 2 very slow horses! The big fat black one is Summer. She is a very very lazy horse so she was in the back trotting along the whole time!! Then there is Jack. Jack is the brown horse. He is really really old so he was trying to catch his breath half way through the ride. The ride was not that long because we were loping at first ( loping is fast ) and then trotting ( trotting is  a little slower than loping ). It was quite enjoyable once we got going!

On Sunday me, my dad and 3 other friends moved our cows!! It was average 2 hours and 45 minutes. I had lots of fun going into ditch and getting the cows to stay together. Because lots of the calves were in the back and making us go slower we called each and every one of them Molasses with a number for example Molasses #28!!!!! 

Why Major Lucie??

 I never told you why I named my blog Major Lucie. I named it Major Lucie because quit a while ago we got this new horse and I feel in love with him. So I decided to name my blog Major Lucie because the horse I feel in love with is named Major. Now I ride him all the time with Vivianne!

  Yesterday me and my dad moved cow's. I was riding Major and my dad was riding a horse named Gorge!!!
